About Us

The El Cajon Elks Lodge 1812 has been a fixture on East Washington Avenue for decades, and the 378 reviews averaging 4.6 stars tell you something real: people keep coming back. The bar runs so long it has earned a reputation as one of the longest in all of California, and on a Friday night with a live band cranking and a cold drink in hand, you'll understand why that detail matters.

The lodge hosts everything from fashion shows to East County Chamber of Commerce breakfast meetings, karaoke nights to full sit-down dinners with catered spreads that guests consistently rave about. The staff works hard to keep the calendar full and the experience worth the drive, whether you're showing up for a ticketed event or just grabbing a seat at that famous bar.

Beyond the entertainment, Lodge 1812 is a working fraternal organization rooted in the Elks' national mission: charity, community, and care for veterans. Members and guests from El Cajon and across San Diego's East County gather here not just for the fun, but because this place does something most venues can't, it actually means something to the people inside it.

What We Offer

The lodge runs a full bar and grill with prices that won't make you wince, live music from local and regional bands, and karaoke nights that draw a loyal crowd. Event spaces accommodate everything from corporate breakfasts and nonprofit fundraisers to private parties, fashion shows, and sports viewing gatherings.

Catered dining is a standout, with food that earns genuine compliments in reviews rather than polite shrugs. The kitchen steps up for large events, and the open floor plan with ample parking makes Lodge 1812 a practical choice for groups that other venues struggle to accommodate.

Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks opens additional benefits: access to member-only events, volunteer opportunities, scholarship programs, and a brotherhood built on service. Non-members are welcome at many public events, making this an easy first stop for anyone curious about what the lodge is all about.

"Went there to hear a concert from the El Cajon Community Orchestra. Large meeting room with comfortable chairs. Good amount of parking. It was weird having to sign in coming into the concert. Everyone there was friendly. Nice clean bathrooms."

"If you want a good nights sleep you may want to choose another Elks. The Crunch fitness business behind all the RV spaces has a big parking lot and anywhere from about 11 p.m.to 2 a.m. theirs people talking loud, yelling, racing their vehicles, burning out, doing donuts. It's AWFUL!!! After 3 nights of it we turned our big fan on to drown out some of that obnoxious noise. Will stay again at the Chula Vista Elks next time though their spots are pretty tight. You have to order food in order to buy a drink. During covid they run as a restaurant is why and the patio is the only thing open. The live music was great!! It's a little tricky how to reserve an RV spot online. Also, big garbage bins are locked and there's only one small trash can for everyone's trash therefore that area in back gets overwhelmed with trash and other items that could go into the big bins. There's lots of shopping and restaurants near this Elks and our favorite was CraftedGreens restaurant, Excellent!!!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
